TRITON CONSTRUCTION PICKED FOR STAKEHILL 185

Developer Patrick Properties has appointed the contractor to deliver the 186,000 sq ft  manufacturing and distribution facility at the well-established Middleton estate. The development will include 12,000 sq ft of office accommodation over three floors. The site formerly housed a 190,000 sq ft distribution centre for Sainsbury’s and was acquired by Patrick in 2009. Patrick secured consent earlier this year for the site’s redevelopment. The architect for the scheme is Fletcher Rae. ‘We were delighted to welcome to site the Metro Mayor for the Liverpool City Region, Steve Rotheram to our project Merseyreach Phase II in Sefton for Chancerygate and Northwood Urban Logistics. Steve was viewing the site both phase 1 completed in 2020 and phase 2 being constructed by Triton Construction right now. We are delighted to have had Courtney Miran join us this week for work experience. Courtney who is studying Level 3 BTEC Construction and the Built Environment at Bradford College is keen to learn about the construction industry. Courtney spent most of the week working in our Yorkshire office, spending time in each department and getting to know how the business works. SLIM PICKINGS FOR TRITON’S NEW OWNERS

Employee-owned contractor Triton Construction just managed to stay in profit last year but is ready to rebound strongly, according to its founder. Turnover for the year ending 31st March 2021 at Triton Construction was down 15% at £27.7m (2020: £32.4m). It made a profit before tax of just £37,596 (2020: £1.3m.) By comparison, two years earlier, the Yorkshire-based company had made £2.6m before tax on nearly £56m turnover. YEAR PLACEMENT STUDENT

We are delighted to have Dean Worrall join the Triton team for the next year. Dean is 23 and a student at Leeds Beckett University studying BSc(Hons) Quantity Surveying. Originally from Cambridgeshire but re-located to Leeds as he found the North to be a lot better! Dean wrote to Triton requesting a year of experience during his ‘sandwich placement’ at university and was accepted.
