Here we have the first of our updates on our new project for Sure Store in Ashton-Under-Lyne. This is the second project for Sure Store following the success of the Wigan project and we are delighted to be working with Sure Store on this project. The consultants for this project are C4 Projects and Tier Consult. As you can see from this photo, ground conditions require a significant raft foundation to support the superstructure.; and here we have pour 2 of 5 underway with a concrete pump being utilised to control the concrete being installed. Triton supported the day by donating a prize for the silent auction for this most deserving cause. The event was a phenomenal success and a fantastic £21,000 was raised. The funds raised will go directly towards the £7.5 million commitment to help fund a new state-of-the art facility at Great Ormond Street Hospital.

Total raised £232.38! We are very pleased to have raised such a large amount given the amount of staff members in the office on the day. Our Spot the Cake competition was won by Roger (Buyer) and he very kindly donated the money back into the pot! Thanks to our Site Manager Doug Eastwood, who sold tea and coffee and ginger parkin biscuits to sub-contractors, Client and Consultants on the site in Hoyland, this raised £55. We are pleased to have been awarded a new contract in Sheffield. This project is for the sub-division of a 30,000 sq ft retail unit into 2 seperate trading spaces. Works will commence on site at the beginning of September 2015.

Due to the continued expansion of the company and the increase in contracts for the North West, we have decided to appoint a NW Operations Director, Steve Bolton. Steve’s main objectives will be to oversee all operations in the North West, meet with consultants to promote Triton and seek future tender opportunities to the value of £6m. Steve is highly qualified and experienced individual who has worked with many of the Triton team at a former construction company and we are very pleased to have him on board. It is now just over 12 months since we opened our North West office, which is located in Birchwood, Warrington. The year has been very successful, with a health number of tender opportunities, several of which are now on site. Triton is proud to have been selected on the Lancashire County Council Framework, details of which are included in the February 2015 news item. Triton Construction has a commitment to the continued training and development of young people in the construction industry. Historically we have successfully progressed 3 management apprentices in estimating and surveying who are now fully qualified and are continuing to progress their career with the business. The company currently has 6 trainees who are enrolled at Leeds College of Building, Nottingham University & Barnsley College, studying towards Construction Management and Quantity Surveying. Triton celebrated 10 years in business in February 2015 with a Dinner Dance for the staff and their partners. We had a lovely meal at the Holdsworth Hotel in Halifax, followed by a raffle – proceeds of which are going towards helping to buy equipment for the children at one of our projects: Norfolk Park Special School. We also had a general knowledge quiz to add a little bit of competition to the evening – it has to be said that one of the tables were disqualified for cheating on their phones!! Triton Construction has had a long standing association with cycle racing, having previously sponsored the Otley Town Centre races, the National Cyclo-Cross racing in Peel Park, Bradford and the National Youth Cycling Championships. This year we have taken up the opportunity to assist one of the country’s top women’s cycling teams as a co-sponsor. Team Giordana Triton was launched at the London Bike Show in February 2015 and consists of 9 women riders who hold over 20 National Championship wins between them. Triton Construction is proud to have been selected as a Framework Partner on the Lancashire County Council 4 year Framework – 2015 to 2019 for building works £750k to EU threshold. The LCC Framework is the first framework to which our new North West office have been appointed and we look forward to working closely with Lancashire County Council on future projects.
