NEW TEACHING BLOCK, HUDDERSFIELD

This project was for the construction of a new detached teaching block over 2 floors, comprising of 5 new teaching classrooms, 2 blocks of 4no unisex WC cubicles and wash areas, 2no stores, plantroom, and staff kitchen.

The building was situated within an existing banking therefore a waterproof retaining wall was introduced, alongside a reduced level dig we excavated for new foundations and drainage. The superstructure consisted of the construction of a new steel frame, internal blockwork, external facing brick and rendered blockwork. New aluminium windows and doors a new roof Bauder blue living roof with plant & PVs installed. Internally all walls were plasterboard lined/metal studwork, plastered with new M&E, joinery, grid ceilings, decoration and soft flooring. External block and facing brick staircases were built alongside various foul drainage connections via a pumped chamber.
