This project was for the timber framed construction of an extension to an existing school. The new extension houses 4 new classrooms, pupil washroom facilities, link corridor and plant room. The scheme also included associated refurbishment of existing adjacent spaces, with DDA works carried out to provide a new disabled toilet & washroom facility and widening of doorways within the existing school.
The external finish to the building is part render and part Cedar Cladding, with UPVC & timber doors and windows.
As this was an ECO Build project, a solar thermal system & heatstore was installed, along with underfloor heating, air to water heat pump system and rainwater harvesting.
On completion of the project, the school were proud to be awarded the Eco-Schools Green Flag.
